India Post Postman and Mailguard
India Post Postman and Mailguard exam is a national paper-pen based entrance exam directed by the Office of Chief Postmaster General, Department of Posts for Postman and Mailguard recruitment. Postman/Mail Guard recruitment exam is conducted as and when there is a requirement for direct recruitment of postman mail guard vacancies in any of the 22 postal circles in India.
Individuals aged between 18 and 27 years and who have completed their matriculation as on the date of Postal Circle Recruitment are eligible to apply for India Post Delhi circle Postman/Mailguard Recruitment.
India Post Postman Mailguard exam pattern:-
India Post Postman Mailguard exam is an aptitude test to be written in a time of two hours. This exam would consist of four sections (General Knowledge, Mathematics, English, Hindi) with 25 questions in each section. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking. The standard of questions for the India Post Postman Mailguard exam 2015 would be that of matriculation (Standard X/Class 10) level.
Eligibility for India Post Postman and Mailguard 2017:-
Age:- Aspirants aged between 18 and 27 years of age are eligible to apply for India Post Postman and Mailguard
Age Relaxation:-
•Schedule Cast/Schedule Tribes (SCs/STs) – 5 Years
•Other backward classes – 3 Years
Educational Qualification:- Intermediate from a recognized board or university.

The applicants shall be subjected to an Aptitude Test (Multiple Choice Questions) covering the following, subjects /topics. Aptitude Test will comprise four parts (Part A, B, C (i) & C(ii) and the total marks will be 100. There is no negative mark.
The duration of the Aptitude test will be for 2 hours (120 Minutes)
A- General Knowledge – 25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each
B- Mathematics – 25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each
C (i)-English – 25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each
C (ii) – Malayalam – 25 marks with 25 questions of 1 mark each
Qualifying Marks:-
General candidates – Minimum 10 marks in each part i.e. Part A, B, C (i) and C (ii) and 40% in aggregate. The candidate has to qualify in each part besides securing prescribed aggregate marks.
OBC candidates – Minimum 9 marks in each part i.e. part A, B, C (i) and C (ii) and 37% in aggregate. The candidate has to qualify in each part besides securing prescribed aggregate marks.
SC/ST candidates Minimum 8 marks in each part i.e. Part A, B, C (i) and C (ii) and 33% in aggregate. The candidate has to qualify in each part besides securing prescribed aggregate marks.

Since the current contract with the outsourced agency has expired & the finalization of the new agency may take some time and keeping in view the fact that Circles are facing shortage of manpower due to large number of vacancies, it has been decided to conduct the LGO exam in-house.
