SSC MTS 2022 exam age limit has been revised by the commission. The age limit has been revised for the Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN. The new age limit for SSC MTS 2022 exam was released in the corrigendum released on March 24. The new upper age limit for the Havaldar post in CBIN and CBN is now 27 years. The candidates need to check these new eligibility criteria here before applying for the exam. The SSC MTS exam applications were released on March 22. Havaldar’s post for Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Board of Narcotics (CBN) were notified in the MTS notification. The number of vacancies for the Havaldar post is 3,603. SSC MTS 2022 vacancies will be released later. The last date to fill out the applications online is April 30.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the official notification mentioning the application dates, eligibility criteria, syllabus and exam pattern and most importantly the number of vacancies. The official notification started the SSC MTS 2022 exam process.  SSC MTS recruitment notification dates were mentioned in the official exam calendar released on December 17. 

Staff Selection Commission(SSC) will conduct the exam in July/August . The exact exam dates will be released later. The Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT)

What is SSC MTS?

SSC MTS or Staff Selection Commission-Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination is a national level exam conducted by SSC for recruitment of candidates in General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various ministries, departments and offices of the Government of India. Candidates recruited as multi-tasking staff by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) fall in Pay Band-1 (INR 5,200-20,200) + Grade Pay INR 1,800. The SSC MTS exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the following posts.

SSC MTS 2022 Application

SSC MTS 2022 applications have been started with the release of official notification. The commission also added the Havaldar post in the notification and the vacancies for the same were notified. The candidates should apply as early as possible to get the examination centre of their choice. SSC MTS 2022 applications will end on April 30.

SSC MTS 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality Condition for SSC MTS Exam

The candidates must be a

  • Citizen of India or a person of Indian Origin
  • The subject of Nepal/Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee

Educational Qualification required for SSC MTS exam (as on April 30, 2022)

The candidate must have passed the Matriculation exam from any recognised board.

The candidates appearing in their Matriculation exam can fill out the form but their final result must be declared before the said date otherwise they will not be considered eligible for the exam.

Age limit for SSC MTS exam

SSC revised the age limit for the Havaldar post. Now the upper age limit for the Havaldar post is 27 years.

(i) Age of 18 years and should not exceed the age of 25 years, as of January 1, 2022 (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1997 and not later than 01-01-2004) for MTS 

(ii) Age of 18 years and should not exceed the age of 27 years, as of January 1, 2022 (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1995 and not later than 01-01-2004) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and CBN (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS.

SSC MTS 2022 Selection Process

SSC MTS selection process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Fill SSC MTS application form

Firstly, candidates need to fill SSC MTS 2022 application form on the official website of the commission. Candidates also need to pay INR 100 as an application fee in online mode.

Step 2: Download SSC MTS admit card

SSC regionals websites will release the application status and admit cards. The admit card for the SSC MTS exam contains all important details about the candidate (such as name, roll number, category) and the exam (such as exam centre name, address).

Step 3: SSC MTS Paper-I

SSC MTS Paper-I is a computer-based exam of 90 minutes duration. Questions in the exam are mainly asked from subjects such as English, Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude and General Awareness. Check here the complete SSC MTS exam pattern.

Step 4: Appear for SSC MTS Paper-II

Candidates clearing paper-I need to appear for SSC MTS paper-II. The Paper-II of SSC MTS exam is a descriptive test of 30 minutes duration. In this paper, candidates need to write a short essay or letter in English or any other regional language. This paper is only qualifying in nature. Once both the papers are over, Staff Selection Commission will release the final SSC MTS result on its official website. Candidates qualifying the exam will have to appear for the document verification round.

Step 6: Appear for SSC MTS document verification round

Finally, all qualifying candidates need to appear for the document verification round along with all original documents prescribed by the commission. All candidates whose document verification gets successfully completed will then be allotted services as per the available vacancies.
