How was the merit list prepared?

Short answer: A candidate had to qualify separately in Paper I, Paper II, Paper III and Paper IV (DEST). Among those who qualified, the circle merit list was made only on the combined marks of Paper I and Paper II. Paper III and the DEST are qualifying papers, so their marks do not decide rank.

The order cites Directorate letter No. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 05.04.2022 and the Postman and Mail Guard Recruitment Rules, 2018, as amended by the Gazette notification of 30.08.2023. When candidates had equal marks, rank was decided under Directorate letter No. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11.12.2020. Reserved category candidates (EWS, OBC, SC, ST) who were selected on merit against UR posts are adjusted against UR vacancies.

What were the lowest selected marks (cut-off) in AP Circle?

Short answer: AP Circle did not publish a separate cut-off table. In the selection list (Annexure-II), the lowest Paper I + Paper II marks were 144 for UR, OBC and ST, and 142 for EWS and SC. PwBD selections went lower: 140 (PwBD-3), 132 (PwBD-1) and 130 (PwBD-2).

The competition was very close. Annexure-III lists 39 more candidates who had the same Paper I + II marks as the zone of consideration in their category (144 for UR and OBC, 142 for EWS and SC, 140 for PwBD-3) but were not selected because there were no more vacancies. The order does not state the maximum marks for Paper I + II, so we have not shown these as percentages. Your exact score is in your own result line.

Were all vacancies filled?

Short answer: No. Annexure-II lists 60 selected candidates for 62 posts. A note in the order says two unfilled UR vacancies under the PwBD-4&5 category, in Tirupati Division and Narasaraopet Division, have been forwarded to 2027.

The selection is provisional. Divisions must check every recruitment-rule condition, confirm that no disciplinary or vigilance case is pending, and make sure no provisionally permitted candidate is appointed before the candidature is regularised. If a candidate is later found ineligible, the name will be removed from the list.

What should selected candidates do now?

Short answer: Submit the acceptance or declination form (Annexure-IV) through your SSPO / SPO / SRM by 11.11.2026. Once the appointment order is issued, join within seven days, or the selection is treated as declined. Divisions must report compliance to the Circle Office by 12.11.2026.

  • Find your name, roll number and allotted division in Annexure-II of the official PDF.
  • Fill in Annexure-IV (accept or decline) and send it through your parent division.
  • If you are on leave, give your acceptance in writing. You may then join after the approved leave.
  • If you decline, the order says you have no further claim on this 2026 result.

Is the AP Circle GDS to MTS result 2026 out?

Short answer: Not yet, as far as we can see on the India Post Recruitment & Results page on 7 November 2026. AP Circle has published the MTS vacancy position (letter RE/3-6/V/2026 dated 29.10.2026): 86 MTS posts under the GDS competitive exam quota for 2026. We will add the MTS result here only once the official order is published.

The MTS vacancy letter splits the 86 posts as UR 35, SC 12, ST 7, OBC 25 and EWS 7 (official MTS vacancy PDF). Other circles' results are on the same India Post page; each circle publishes its own list.

How can I prepare for the next GDS to Postman exam?

Short answer: Practise with the real past papers and the DEST tool. In 2026, many UR and OBC candidates were tied at the same combined marks, so every mark in Paper I and Paper II counts. Paper III and the DEST must still be cleared, because they are qualifying.
