IBPS RRB

IBPS RRB is the common recruitment for Regional Rural Banks. It fills Group B Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Group A Officers in Scale I, II and III. The Scale I and Office Assistant posts are the two-stage exams most students prepare for.

Age relaxations apply for SC/ST, OBC, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen as listed in the notice. A candidate can apply for Office Assistant and for the officer posts separately.

Office Assistants are selected on the Main exam, with no interview. Officer Scale I goes on to a Common Interview. Officer Scale II and III take a single online exam followed by an Interview.

Preliminary (Office Assistant and Officer Scale I): 80 questions, 80 marks, 45 minutes. You must pass both tests.

Is there an interview for Office Assistant?

No. Office Assistants (Multipurpose) are selected from the Preliminary and Main online exams.

Do I need to know the local language?

For Officer Scale I and Office Assistant, the notice asks for proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB. Read the notice for the state you choose.

Can I apply for both the clerk-level and officer posts?

Yes, but you have to apply for each separately.

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria Details

Nationality / Citizenship – Participants must have this citizenship which is given below.
  • Citizen of Indian
  • Citizen of Nepal
  • Citizen of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee
  • Migrated Peoples from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Post

 Participant must have Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.

(a) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*
(b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Post

Degree in any discipline. Preferred degree criteria Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.
(a) Proficiency in local language.
(b) Computer Knowledge.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer) Post

 Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Preferred degree criteria – Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.
Required Experience – Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II (Specialist Officers) Post

Information Technology Officer (IT Officer) – Must have Degree in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
(a) Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.
(b) Required Experience: One year.

Chartered Accountant – Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Experience – One year.

Law Officer – Degree in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Experience – Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than two years.

  • Treasury Manager – Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution
    Experience – One year.
  • Marketing Officer – MBA in Marketing from a recognized university.
    Experience – One year.
  • Agricultural Officer – Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    Experience – Two years.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale III Post

Degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Preference Criteria having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.

Experience – Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

All aspirants required checking their age limit for ibps RRB cwe VI for all category posts. Age Criteria is different for all posts. Age will be calculated as on 01.09.2017.
